The Minister of Development, Agustina García Élez, has advanced in Sisante that this coming summer the group of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Sisante, Casas de Benítez and Pozoamargo, in the province of Cuenca, one of the most important infrastructures due to their investment and dimensions that the regional government currently has under construction in Castilla-La Mancha and which will have a joint investment of 11.3 million euros.

There, she has assured that it will be a reality in the summer, since the degree of execution of the works is very advanced in the three infrastructures, being at 90% in Sisante, 80% in Pozoamargo and 75% in Casas de Benítez .

Along these lines, he wanted to highlight the commitment of the regional government and President García-Page "to fulfill what they promise." “Something that did not happen in the previous legislature in terms of purification, where 157 purification plants were paralyzed, including the ones we visited today and without taking into account the prejudice to the neighbors and the City Councils, since they involved very large fines from the Confederations. ”, he recalled.








The counselor has also highlighted the importance of caring for the environment, "which we demand, and for this we put all the effort from the regional Government so that the waters can be purified in the most correct way, so that we all comply." It is, she stated, "that we comply with environmental defense, European regulations, purifying the water and guaranteeing the quality of the water that reaches the Júcar River."

In this sense, García Élez has stated that “we are all looking forward to this facility being put into operation, because it came from a paralysis that could not be understood. "You cannot, on the one hand, demand this water purification from city councils and have it be the Government itself in the last legislature that paralyzed it." Therefore, he has pointed out, “there is a change in attitude where it is not paralyzed, but rather opens; an attitude with which there is no brakes, but rather a commitment to the development of the area in terms of purification and, of course, with President García-Page's commitment to the environment, quality water and improving quality. of life of citizens.”

These treatment plants are prepared to jointly purify a volume of wastewater of about 2,410 cubic meters per day, serving an equivalent population of 13,567 inhabitants that will benefit. Furthermore, as the counselor explained, the initial project has been modified to meet the demands of population and economic growth of the municipalities and the needs of the irrigators themselves in the area.

In this way, he highlighted that "this purification effort that the regional Government is making is also missing in other neighboring communities, where purification is not a priority for them, but whose consequences we suffer in Castilla-La Mancha", since While here "we try to adapt our wastewater more and more, the Middle Tagus suffers from pollution from the Jarama and therefore continues to be the sewer of Madrid", reflected in the Tagus River as it passes through Toledo or Talavera de la Reina .
